Welcome to the website of Yvonne Patrick Yoga
I have been practising yoga for over 20 years & as well as being British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) trained I am a Yin yoga teacher having studied with both Paul Grilley & With- Yin Yoga.
My yoga journey began in a weekly yoga class when I was still working in nursing as a way of managing my stress levels. I loved the class; it was the complete opposite to the culture of where I had been all day & gradually, I began to develop an interest in the philosophy & other aspects of the yogic tradition. Eventually I left nursing to work full time as a yoga teacher. My many years in the Nursing Profession have been invaluable however as I have experience in Rheumatology, the Musculoskeletal system & let’s not forget over 30 years of working with people.
As well as teaching Hatha Yoga I also specialise in Yin yoga & have completed two Yin Yoga trainings more latterly with Paul Grilley in California. I am passionate about Yin Yoga & love seeing how my students respond to this practice. I never stop studying as there is always another book to read, something new to learn, but most importantly as a teacher it’s important to stay up to date.

Although I enjoy teaching & practising both styles of Yoga, I am noticing a big “shift” in students coming to Yin & needing it to balance out their stressful busy lives. Although I love the physical side of yoga & appreciate the way in which it keeps my body strong it is so much more than that. It is a whole system that encompasses the physical & emotional body which is so important especially for good mental health.
On a personal level my yoga practice has taken me on a journey enabling me to know myself on a deeper level. It has allowed me to challenge self-limiting beliefs & attitudes. Yoga is a discipline that teaches us about love, respect & acceptance of ourselves & others.
Whether you are new to yoga or have some experience I hope that you will find yoga to be the positive source of inspiration in your life that I have found it to be. My classes are a safe, inclusive environment open to all levels of students & fun!
Although I believe yoga to be a practice of self-discovery & self-acceptance; it can also be a powerful tool that enables us to cope with life’s challenges, stressors & times of uncertainty.
Despite the last few months having been challenging, my yoga practice has really sustained me during this time. We have all had to live in the moment a lot more & that is not always easy. However my practice has become stronger. I have had the opportunity to study with teachers on zoom that I wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to access. I know that many of my students have also been grateful for the opportunity to be able to still feel part of the yoga community on zoom.
Generally all of my classes can be found around Beeston & Beeston Rylands in Nottingham but currently I am remaining on zoom.

TESTIMONIALS
“It took me 60 years to find some exercise I could take to. I started Yvonne’s class in October 2014 and absolutely love it! Obviously I am still very much a novice but I feel great since starting. Yvonne is really good as she takes things at your pace and gives modifications to poses to suit your anatomy. She definitely has a convert in me – it isn’t like an exercise class – it is so much more.”

“I have been taking Yvonne’s yoga classes for nine months and have never felt better. Her experience as a nurse gives her very precise insights into the body – its musculature and the ways in which its various organs and tissues link up. Yet she is able to take her students into a deeper, more spiritual dimension, and the benefits for my emotional and mental health have been enormous. I would recommend her classes to anyone. Life-changing stuff.”

Graham C
“After years of trying different yoga classes and finding myself frustrated and unable to relax, I finally attended one of Yvonne’s evening classes. I was immediately taken in by the calm atmosphere Yvonne created and her extensive knowledge and care for her students. Yvonne is a very conscientious teacher, aware of the individual needs of every student in the class and supporting them where necessary. Her class is gentle but also allows you to challenge yourself if you wish to.”
